The solution reduced downtime, extended equipment lifetime, and modernized hydraulic operations without increasing system size or complexity.
BAHRI implemented Scanwill pressure intensifiers in two separate industrial applications requiring pressures up to 700–800 bar.
The first application involved a hydraulic press used for crimping electrical terminals, where the customer needed a compact yet powerful hydraulic unit capable of delivering stable high pressure with precise control.
The second project focused on retrofitting an existing 700 bar hydraulic power unit that suffered from repeated failures of the high-pressure pump. Instead of replacing the complete system, BAHRI integrated a Scanwill pressure intensifier into the existing setup, modernizing the unit while preserving much of the original equipment.
The biggest value for the customer was improved reliability and reduced machine downtime.
With the Scanwill pressure intensifier handling the high-pressure generation, the main hydraulic pump in the retrofit application could operate at only 140 bar. This significantly reduced wear on critical components and eliminated the recurring pump failures that previously caused production interruptions.
At the same time, the customer achieved the required high-pressure performance in a compact system without the need for larger hydraulic units or extensive redesigns.
